Starline August Moon
Solid_White
Sire: Somerset Atahualpa
Dam: Somerset Velvet Star
Starline August Moon - an impact male for softness and density. This exceptionally soft male sporting a 23.9 micron fleece at 8.5 years of age, is a super sire of white genetics and full Peruvian origin (Alianza). Only shown in a single spring season, he was awarded Supreme Alpaca at the Charles Ledger Show before he joined the working sire stable at Coolaroo. However August Moon is best known for his progeny with his offspring selling as stud sires or for export more than any other at Coolaroo. It is primarily due to their attributes of fleece character coupled with softness that holds in maturity. Further, his crias are vigorous growers and early maturers, calm, intelligent and hardy like their sire. This combination of attributes ensures predictabity in his offspring, a welcome trait when assessing breeding outcomes.

Magnificently woolled frame sire that was imported from the US in 1997. Sired by the world famous Peruvian Hemingway and out of the beautiful dam Paloma who was imported from Peru in 94. Solomon has a well-defined crimp, bundling well into staples and grows a soft fleece at a profuse rate. Each year, both Minderoo and Solomon were shorn twice in the year and each cuts in excess of 6 kilos annually.
Solomons greatest strength is his magnificent frame and carriage. To date his first progeny are bold in fleece and character, regal and upstanding, all show quality just like their sire.
